To mark the month of Ramadan, the Association des Amateurs de la Musique Andalouse du Maroc (AAMAM) is offering a rich and varied program. Several conferences and evenings are scheduled during the holy month.
As part of this program, a flagship conference will be held to discuss the project to include the Anthology of Moroccan Andalusian Music "Al ala" in UNESCO's intangible heritage list. "This work is intended to be a cultural and musical reference, played all over the world thanks to its transcription into different languages", explains the association.
The "Al Ala" anthology of Moroccan Andalusian music is a major achievement in the efforts to preserve this component of the Kingdom's intangible heritage. The project was made possible thanks to the involvement of the Association des Amateurs de la Musique Andalouse du Maroc (AAMAM) and the invaluable support of Anas Sefrioui, a patron of the arts and a great lover of the arts.
The project was launched in 2021 and required no less than one hundred and thirty-two hours of recordings, with the participation of the Kingdom's seven finest conductors to interpret the various scores. To accompany them, the project's steering committee also called on 21 of the finest female and male voices in Moroccan Andalusian music. These include Abderrahim Souiri, Abdelfettah Bennis, Abir El Abed and Zainab Afailal.
