EDITA FOOD INDUSTRIES INAUGURATES ITS FIRST PRODUCTION UNIT IN MOROCCO

Edita Food Industries, an Egyptian company specializing in the production of packaged snacks, announced on Thursday March 31st the inauguration of its production unit in Morocco.

Edita's plant in Morocco is owned and managed by Edita Food Industries Maroc. in partnership with the Dislog Group. Edita is therefore the majority shareholder in Edita Food Industries Maroc, with a stake of 76%, while Dislog is the majority shareholder in Edita Food Industries Maroc, with a stake of 76%. holds an interest of 20%says a press release.

The inauguration took place in the presence of the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, and the Egyptian Ambassador to Morocco, Yasser Ossman. Located in Berrechid, this is Edita's first production site abroad.

"To date, our initial investment has reached 203 million dirhams in the first phase of this installation. We plan to increase our investments over the next few years to fuel future expansions. The site employs 300 Moroccan citizens to date and will create 400 job opportunities We're looking forward to working with you," said Edita Chairman Hani Berzi.

"We have plans for a second phase that will add a 12.000 m2with a budget of 170 million dirhamsand create 400 additional jobs "he added.

The production unit began commercial operations in December 2021. It currently produces three variants of Edita's flagship "HOHOs" brands, with plans to install additional production lines and diversify the product range in Morocco in the near future.
