Sanlam Maroc and Dislog Group announce that Sanlam Maroc has acquired a non-controlling minority stake in Dislog Group.
Sanlam Maroc's investment of 150 million dirhams will enable the Dislog Group to strengthen its healthcare division and pursue its development program through external growth (M&A) in the pharmaceuticals and medical devices sectors.
As for Sanlam Maroc, this investment is in line with its strategy of supporting and boosting the Moroccan healthcare sector, a sector in which the company has been active and strongly committed for many years, and where Dislog Group is also firmly established.
The Dislog Group owns several specialized entities, including Megaflex, Kosmopharm, Steripharma, Somapharma, Africare and Dislog Santé. Its healthcare division is structured around three business units covering the pharmaceutical industry, medical devices and dermo-cosmetics, thus forming a complete value chain, from drug manufacturing to the distribution of specialized equipment for healthcare establishments. This expansion is part of a strategic vision focused on a fast-growing sector in Morocco.
Commenting on the transaction, Yahia Chraibi, Managing Director of Sanlam Maroc, said: "Sanlam and Dislog share the same commitment to constant innovation and service excellence. By investing in such a dynamic and promising local player, we are reaffirming our strong desire to fully support the Moroccan economic fabric, particularly in the Healthcare sector, where Sanlam has historic positioning and know-how, which we are keen to push even further."
Moncef Belkhayat, Chairman and CEO of the Dislog Group, added: "Sanlam's acquisition of a stake in Dislog marks the institutionalization of our investment round. As the Moroccan champion of FMCG and healthcare, our ambition is to raise the national flag beyond our borders and accelerate our internationalization. It's an ambition we largely share with Sanlam.
